Time capsule

Our restorations are from the bare metal up, so the kiosk is stripped of all fittings before blasting. Along the way we discover things that were left for five minutes and never collected decades ago. The K2 kiosk has a drop down ceiling hatch into the roof void where things were often stashed. We have found:

Rock hard sandwiches.

1940's newspapers.

1950's paint and brushes with a WET PAINT notice.

An original 1930's door closer and light fitting.

A bird nest where they entered through a broken crown vent.

Behind the backboard is always a good source of old items and these can help date and locate the kiosk. Such as:

Engineers reports.

Taxi cards.

Discarded phone cards.

Crisps packets, sweets and ice cream wrappers.
